Dark and moody meets soft and romantic — a vineyard wedding overflowing with texture, fruit, and fall-inspired blooms.
Moody Romance at Providence Vineyard: Elisa & Cole’s Fall Wedding
There’s something truly magical about mid-October weddings — the air is crisp, the leaves begin to turn, and the light feels just a little softer. Elisa and Cole’s wedding day at Providence Vineyard captured every bit of that cozy fall romance, but with a twist: a moody and refined color palette full of depth, texture, and heart.
From the very start, Elisa’s vision was clear — she wanted something dark and romantic, with rich berry tones and navy hues, but still softened by delicate beiges and lush textures. It’s that perfect balance of drama and elegance that makes my florist heart so happy.
The Palette & Flowers
For Elisa’s bouquet, I combined quicksand and moab roses with brown lisianthus and brownie-dyed tulips, weaving in layers of smokebush, wigella, and sprayed limonium for depth and movement. The result was a bouquet that felt like fall in full bloom — moody yet timeless, and oh-so-romantic against her wedding gown.
The bridesmaids carried smaller, more petite versions in those deep berry tones, which paired beautifully with the groomsmen’s boutonnieres crafted from miniature blooms and textural touches. Every personal flower tied the look together — elegant, cohesive, and tailored perfectly to the season.
Noteworthy Details: The Ceremony & Reception
We pivoted from our original design plan and created a completely new focal ceremony installation on the track doors of the vineyard. It became one of my favorite elements of the day. Guests looked out over the vines as Elisa and Cole exchanged vows, surrounded by a lush, greenery-driven design that framed the moment so beautifully. It was simple, intentional, and let the natural beauty of the vineyard shine through.
Inside, the tables were a feast for the eyes (and senses!). Each tablescape featured fresh fruit woven throughout the designs — grapes, plums, and figs nestled among candles and florals, adding a tactile, romantic touch.
We mixed compote arrangements in gold bowls with clusters of taper candles, pillar candles, and votives, creating soft layers of light that danced across the tables as the sun set. The linens grounded the design, allowing those moody burgundies and soft neutrals to take center stage.
It was one of those weddings that felt both elevated and effortless — the kind that reminds me why I love what I do. Every petal, every flickering candle, every fruit accent came together to tell Elisa and Cole’s love story in full color.
“Michaela was truly exceptional. From our first meeting through the final walkthrough, her process gave us complete confidence that our vision would come to life—and she delivered beyond what we imagined. We had our hearts set on a hanging installation over the ceremony space that would later transition to the head table. When the venue’s usual trellis wasn’t available, she immediately found a solution and created a custom design on the barn door frame. It became one of the most-complimented pieces of the night. She captured our warm fall palette perfectly, incorporating rich tones, fruit, candles, and bud vases to give each table a full, layered look while staying within budget. Every arrangement felt intentional and beautifully styled. My bouquet was one of my favorites I’ve ever seen. She used the perfect mix of flowers to match our warm fall palette and added a gorgeous ribbon that gave it beautiful movement and dimension. She also created a dedicated bouquet for my mom so I could thank her during the reception instead of doing a traditional bouquet toss—a gesture that meant so much. And as a final surprise, she gifted us extra bouquets to hand out as favors, which our guests absolutely loved. If you want a florist who blends artistry, versatility, and genuine care, Michaela is the one you want by your side.” – Elisa | Bride
